A Phone Call To USA----An Experience Of A Friend
I have a friend whose English is very good. He had a quarrel experience with a foreigner in a phone call. He wrote it down. I have read it several times and I found it was so moving that I couldn't help posting here to share with everyone. The following is what he wrote.
Once, I made a phone call to a client in the USA. I dialed the number and got connected.
“Hello! May I speak to Mr.***?”, I said with a little bit nervous tone.
“******”.(see note)
Hardly had the answer finished when the phone was hung up. I didn’t catch what he said and had no chance to beg him pardon.
I dialed and got connected again.
“Hello! I’m calling from China. Could I speak to Mr.***?”
“You, again! Chinese pig!”
This time I got it. But before I could make any response, the line had been cut.
I knew that I had dialed a wrong number. But feeling so uncomfortable in my heart, I, once again, dialed and got connected.
“Hello! Excuse me, can you speak Chinese?”
“Chinese? You are kidding.”
“Then, go to hell, you stupid bullshit American!” I shouted.
“You you you------”. He must have got too astonished by my angry answer to speak fluently.
Before he could go on with his sentence, I roared,
“You what! You big bastard”!
Then I hang up the speaker and felt so refreshed.
Note:“******”is a dirty word.
