ceramic balls 9/32" nominal size :

Si3N4 grade 10 and 25

Al2O3 grade 10 and 25

Silicon carbide grade 10 and 25.

Grade 10 - 7.144mm +/-0.00254 mm

Grade 25 - 7.144mm +/-0.00254 mm

Please check for tolerances here , maybe you can get an idea

We are actually looking for ceramic balls because our application needs lower density, good surface finish, high young's modulus, high compressive strength, low hygroscopicity ( should not absorb moisture) . Its not a high temperature ,high pressure application . We would not see temperatures more than 100c and pressures over 500kpa.The ball is used in relief valve application used in fuel systems, the ball sits on a seat in the assembly and also to let you know we coin the seat with same ceramic ball.

Please keep in mind, our volume requirements start off with 1-1.5 million balls for 2005 and 2-3 million for 2006, it can ramp up to 7 million by 2008. We wanted you to give us a quote which would take these high volumes into account.

Our company is Siemens VDO Automotive, located in newport news, virginia.

I work as Product engineer with fuel delivery components group. So once we like the price quoted, our purchasing department would officially get in touch with your company.

So it would be fine if you can give an approximate quote, please let me know how much you can go down on price due to less inspection process and things like that.
